Bombardier Unveils New Interior Showroom at London Biggin Hill Airport

Bombardier, in collaboration with its interior design partner F/List, has opened a state-of-the-art Material Lounge at London Biggin Hill Airport. This new facility showcases an extensive range of materials, fabrics, and components used in Bombardier aircraft interiors. The Material Lounge, spanning 700 square feet, is an integral part of the Canadian company's maintenance and repair center at the UK airport.

Unmatched Portfolio of Interior Options

The Material Lounge features the largest portfolio of interior options among Bombardier's international service centers. This initiative also marks the first time that Austrian company F/List has displayed its array of materials, fabrics, and components outside its headquarters. The lounge boasts over 1300 samples, including wooden veneers, stone surfaces, leather, fabrics, trim, and metal finishes. Visitors can also explore F/List’s latest portfolio of biomaterials, which includes products like F/Lab Whisper Leather, Linfinium, and Aenigma, offering sustainable alternatives for business jet interiors.

A Collaborative Effort

Katarina List-Nagl, CEO of F/List, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, "We are thrilled to work with Bombardier on this project and to have the opportunity to provide our mutual clients, Bombardier designers, and our interior experts with a secluded place to see, touch, and explore our industry-leading collection of aircraft interiors in one location. This modern space is more than just a showroom and sales tool; it is a place where we can help bring interior design concepts to life in a special, inspiring environment. In addition to physical samples, visitors have access to a cabin configurator to visualize layouts, select materials, and develop design ideas."

A Hub for Maintenance and Innovation

At its Biggin Hill facility, Bombardier performs both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modifications, and avionics installations for Learjets, Challengers, and Global aircraft. Following an expansion project in 2022, the manufacturer replaced a pair of hangars totaling 91,000 square feet with a new 250,000 square foot facility. This new space can simultaneously accommodate up to 14 Global 7500 aircraft, highlighting Bombardier's commitment to providing top-tier maintenance and support services.

Enhancing Customer Experience

The opening of the Material Lounge is part of Bombardier's broader strategy to enhance the customer experience by providing a comprehensive and immersive environment for interior design selection. This initiative underscores Bombardier's dedication to innovation and excellence in aircraft interiors, ensuring that customers can explore the latest trends and technologies in a convenient and engaging setting.

Sustainability in Focus

One of the standout features of the Material Lounge is its focus on sustainability. F/List's range of biomaterials, such as F/Lab Whisper Leather, Linfinium, and Aenigma, represents a significant step forward in offering eco-friendly alternatives for business jet interiors. These materials are designed to meet the highest standards of quality and performance while minimizing environmental impact, reflecting the growing demand for sustainable solutions in the aviation industry.

A Destination for Design Enthusiasts

The Material Lounge at London Biggin Hill Airport is poised to become a destination for design enthusiasts, offering a unique opportunity to explore the best in aircraft interior materials and design. Whether for current Bombardier aircraft owners looking to refresh their interiors or potential buyers seeking inspiration, the lounge provides a wealth of options and expert guidance to help realize their vision.

The opening of the new Material Lounge at London Biggin Hill Airport marks a significant milestone for Bombardier and F/List. By bringing together an unparalleled collection of interior materials and design options in a single, dedicated space, the facility sets a new standard for customer engagement and satisfaction. As Bombardier continues to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in aircraft interiors, the Material Lounge will play a crucial role in shaping the future of luxury aviation.
