Very Light Jets To Become The Future Of Personal Aviation

The aim of novel technologies always has been to make things smaller and smarter and private jets are perfect examples. The aviation industry has witnessed many innovations and the introduction of very light jets offered a new form of luxury while traveling.

Very light jets offer every facility of a larger aircraft at an affordable cost. It typically seats six to eight passengers, weighs less than 10,000 pounds, and costs between $2-$4 million. Very light jets function as air limos, catering to every requirement of passengers.

Very light jets gather attention:

It was observed that top executives use private jet charters that carry only one or two passengers, leaving the other 7 seats empty. Keeping this in mind, aircraft manufacturers offered a jet that fulfills such a specific set of customers. The invention of very light jets was aimed at lowering the total cost of a flight and minimize the hassle of traveling in private jets. Moreover, the customers prefer very light jets as it saves time and justifies the trip at such lower charter rates.

Apart from this, since the dawn of private jets, the aviation industry has observed a growing demand for people to own a private jet, but for many, it remained far beyond their financial reach. The introduction of very light jets made it possible for such customers to own a private jet at an affordable cost. Although the price of very light jets still raises eyebrows, they are still affordable than conventional private planes.

Over the last few years, a new class of very light jets has entered the market. The majority of the latest very light jets are designed for single-pilot operation and companies have been allowing solo flying given that the pilot has completed intensive training and fulfilled the period of supervised flying. The very light jets have become cheaper by the day and are not targeted to a purely very rich person and the industry would soon become the future of personal aviation.

Recent market developments:

According to Allied Market Research, the global very light jet market is expected to reach $10.44 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 11.0% from 2021 to 2030. Growing concern toward health and a rise in inclination toward private aviation solutions drive the growth of the market. The demand for the very light jet has increased over the last few years. The introduction of new jets and novel jet programs have offered new opportunities for customers and market players.

For instance, VeriJet, a Florida-based company recently declared to add a jet card program, starting at $2,500 per hour. Prior to this, the company had offered a fix-hourly rate of $3,000 with a minimum of 60 minutes of the journey. However, with this plan, customers had to pay for flights on a trip-by-trip basis. On the other hand, with the new jet card program, customers get cancelation terms with a deadline of 24 hours and favorable booking. The jet card is limited to 100 memberships. The jet card program is flexible and caters to every wish of customers who aim to travel by very light jets.

On the other hand, aircraft manufacturers have invested a colossal amount of money to decrease the overall weight of the aircraft than their competitors. In doing so, Flaris LAR-01 is the world’s fastest very light jet. The jet has short-field landing capability and detachable wings. The aircraft designers have made it the world’s fastest single-engine, turboprop very light jet that offers 250-knot true airspeed at 10,000 feet. In addition, the jet requires merely 650 feet of runway, which is almost five times less than the average length required by its competitors.

Apart from this, several aviation companies have entered the growing industry of very light jets. For instance, The Eclipse 500 has gained traction over the last few years, the aircraft offers six-passenger seats along with a comfortable interior space. Moreover, it weighs less than 6,000 pounds and thus, is more fuel-efficient than its competitors. Similarly, Cessna Citation Mustang, a new very light jet offered by the Citation family of private jets, is the smallest jet that accommodates two pilots and four passengers. The jet can reach halfway across the U.S. with a top speed of 391 mph.

When it comes to private jets, very light jets cater to every need of the customers. The range of very light jets has been increasing with the advent of new technology and the invention of the new composite during their manufacturing. Thus, the demand for such aircraft is bound to increase in the years to come. Aviation has always been about luxury and efficiency and the very light jets offer both at a reasonable price.
