Gulfstream G550. What is the secret of success?

The Gulfstream G550 is one of the most famous business jet aircrafts from the American manufacturer produced by Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. Thanks to its huge windows, the G550 is well recognised and often pops up in Hollywood blockbusters. Breaking more than forty speed records, the G550 has established itself as the fastest long-haul business jet. Combining high speed (up to Mach 0.85) with a huge flight range (12,501 km), this business jet is considered optimal for long hauls. A special control system and an enhanced vision system which includes infrared cameras allows the G550 to take off and land in low visibility. Advanced application flight equipment allows the G550 to perform take offs and landings at altiports with a short flight strip.

The G550 is high-performance aircraft due to two powerful engines Rolls-Royce BR 710 and good fuselage aerodynamics, and a well-thought-out infrastructure of the cabin provides comfort during the flight.

G550 cabin

The Gulfstream G550 received certification to transport 19 passengers, but in practice, such configurations do not occur. Standard passenger capacity is about 13-14 people, but they are placed with maximum comfort, and that's with a narrow fuselage: the length of the cabin is 13.39 meters, width is 2.24 meters and height is 1.88 meters.

14 branded oval-shaped Gulfstream windows fill the cabin with natural light. Add an absolutely fresh air combined with a very low barometric altitude. These are the subtle strokes which give the invaluable effect. Abundant natural light and fresh air help passengers maintain working capacity and stay focused. The body is fewer tensed at low barometric altitude, and passengers arrive to their destination well rested and ready to work. The quiet G550 cabin also makes you feel better. Best practices of noise-reduction leave the engine noise where it is formed  — overboard the aircraft.

Flexible comfort

The Gulfstream G550 has a flexible interior design cabin to meet the diverse needs of passengers during any flight.

Some layouts provide beds for eight passengers, and the possibility to equip up to four individual living areas allows to arrange different types of space, including special lounge zone for crew members, an individual compartment, a meeting area and a space for entertainment. A full-size on board kitchen can be also arranged at the front or tail of the G550. This is the only model in its range that provides such flexibility.

Elite interior configuration is available for the most sophisticated travelers, which includes special combinations of materials, electrically-adjustable armchairs with massage settings, the ability to control settings in the cabin from a smartphone or tablet.

Ideal working conditions

The main advantage of owning a business jet is to be able to use flight time for productive work. A fully featured office is always ready at the G550.

The standard equipment includes a wireless network, satellite link and Iridium telephone, as well as a fax or printer. In addition, Gulfstream Corporation offers various Internet connection options that allow passengers to stay connected and control any operations.
