Bombardier Receives Sojitz Order for Two Global Aircraft

The Global 6500 and Global 8000 will form the basis of a new shared-ownership program in Japan.

Bombardier Receives Sojitz Order for Two Global Aircraft

Bombardier has received an order from Japanese trading company and business jet provider Sojitz for Global 6500 and Global 8000 aircraft, the company announced at NBAA-BACE 2025. They will be used to launch the Share Jet Program (SJP), Japan’s first shared-ownership program for large, ultra-long-range business jets.

“The collaboration between our companies underscores our shared commitment to advancing business aviation in Japan and Asia, connecting cities with greater speed and efficiency,” said Éric Martel, President and CEO of Bombardier.

Yohei Sakurai, General Manager of Sojitz’s Business Jet Division, noted that the Globals were selected based on the company’s extensive experience operating Bombardier aircraft in Japan. “Their proven platforms and quality of service make them the ideal foundation for launching Japan’s first shared-ownership program for large aircraft,” he said.

SJP collaborated with Bombardier on unique interiors to provide an “unrivaled experience” in cabin design and craftsmanship.
