Bombardier Secures EU Approval for Global 8000
The Bombardier Global 8000 is now cleared to fly in Europe.

Bombardier has begun obtaining the necessary certifications for its flagship Global 8000 aircraft. The latest is European Union approval for the twin-engine aircraft, following type certification by Transport Canada in November and approval by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in December. Also in December, Bombardier delivered the first Global 8000 to its longtime customer Patrick Dovigi during a ceremony at its Toronto facilities.
The successor to the four-zone, ultra-long-range Global 7500, the Global 8000 was certified as the fastest civil aircraft since the supersonic Concorde, with a maximum speed of Mach 0.95. In addition, the latest Global became the longest-range aircraft in the family, capable of flying 8000 nautical miles (14,816 km), and achieved a new record-low cabin altitude of 2691 feet (820 m) while cruising at 41,000 feet (12,497 m).
“Receiving EASA certification demonstrates the hard work and dedication of Bombardier’s highly skilled experts in collaboration with Transport Canada and the EASA teams,” said Stephen McCullough, Bombardier’s Executive Vice President of Engineering, Product Development and Defense. “This achievement further strengthens the momentum behind this groundbreaking business jet.”
