The emirate’s government has announced a partnership with Falcon Executive Aviation to develop a VIP terminal, hangar and FBO at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.

Private Aviation Complex Planned at Ras Al Khaimah Airport

The emirate’s government and Falcon Executive Aviation announced that Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (OMRK) will receive a VIP terminal and a hangar for private aircraft as part of a joint investment project. At a press conference during the Dubai Airshow, officials said the initiative is part of Ras Al Khaimah’s plan to become an entertainment and tourism hub in the northern UAE.

Falcon Executive Aviation, a subsidiary of Alex Group Investment, will build and operate an FBO at the airport. It will consist of a 16,146-square-foot terminal building and an 86,111-square-foot hangar adjoining a spacious apron for aircraft parking.

The airport is a 15-minute drive from Ras Al Khaimah’s beach resorts, which in 2027 will include the Wynn Al Marjan Island complex with a casino. The emirate is making a concerted effort to attract affluent travelers, including private aviation customers, to redirect some of the revenue that currently goes to neighboring Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Falcon’s terminal will include a royal lounge and four other passenger lounges, as well as what the company called premium hospitality areas. The site will also have a helipad and space for operating new eVTOL aircraft. In September, eVTOL aircraft developer Joby signed an agreement with Skyports Infrastructure to launch air taxi services in Ras Al Khaimah. The first vertiport in its network is expected to be located on Al Marjan Island.

According to Falcon, construction work will take 15 months, with the new facility expected to open in the first quarter of 2027. The company said the terminal and hangars are being designed to meet the LEED Gold environmental certification standard, which requires solar panels to account for 35% of energy consumption. The FBO will use electric ground vehicles and provide aircraft operators with sustainable aviation fuel.

Falcon Executive Aviation is part of a larger group of companies providing business aviation services, which also includes the Falcon Elite FBO brand and the Falcon Technic aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul division. The company, which already has an FBO at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai (OMDW), provides charter and aircraft management services through its Falcon Luxe division, while flights are operated by subsidiary Alex Jet, which received its UAE air operator certificate this week.
