VIP Completions Completes G550 Refurbishment in Eight Weeks
The refurbishment was completed for a first-time aircraft owner who acquired the Gulfstream G550 through SmartJets, a VIP Completions subsidiary.

Aircraft completion specialist VIP Completions fully refurbished a Gulfstream G550, making customized changes to the interior and exterior in just eight weeks. The refurbishment was completed for a first-time aircraft owner who acquired the aircraft through SmartJets, a subsidiary of VIP Completions. The project included redesigning several areas of the cabin, including the forward cabin with four club seats and two forward-facing seats, a mid-cabin conference area for four passengers, and an aft cabin with two two-seat divans. Unique design elements include dynamic fiber-optic lighting integrated into the headliner to create a starry sky, carbon-fiber accents throughout the cabin, and eucalyptus wood panels on the aft bulkhead.
Premium finishes received particular attention in the selection of materials: custom-made seats and panels are upholstered in Garrett leather, with Tapis Ultraleather inserts on the upper cabin surfaces and Loro Piana cashmere upholstery on the cabin divans.
The aircraft’s cabin management and onboard entertainment systems were fully upgraded, including an Alto audio system with 14 speakers, 10 subwoofers, and three amplifiers. A custom flight management system (CMS) included customized passenger touch panels with the ability to stream content from devices to screens throughout the cabin, conversion to RGB LED lighting, integration of a PLEX media server, and high-definition monitors in the forward and aft sections of the cabin.
Exterior changes included an angular two-tone paint scheme using platinum pearl and cumulus gray pearl shades. The work was carried out by Duncan Aviation.
